General Information of the m6A Target Gene (ID: M6ATAR00710)
Target Name M-phase inducer phosphatase 2 (CDC25B)
Synonyms
Dual specificity phosphatase Cdc25B
    Click to Show/Hide
Gene Name CDC25B
Chromosomal Location 20p13
Family MPI phosphatase family
Function
Tyrosine protein phosphatase which functions as a dosage-dependent inducer of mitotic progression. Required for G2/M phases of the cell cycle progression and abscission during cytokinesis in a ECT2-dependent manner. Directly dephosphorylates CDK1 and stimulates its kinase activity. The three isoforms seem to have a different level of activity.

Experiment 1 Reporting the m6A Methylation Regulator of This Target Gene [1]
Response Summary METTL3 enhanced the m6A modification of M-phase inducer phosphatase 2 (CDC25B) mRNA, which maintained its stability and upregulated its expression, thereby activating G2/M phase of cell cycle and leading to HNSCC malignant progression.

In-vivo Model Tumour xenograft models were established in nude mice bearing: SAS cells cells stably transfected with METTL3-shRNA and the corresponding control vector. The different HNSCC cells (5 × 106) were subcutaneously injected into the right axilla of nude mice (n = 6 per group).
